I still pinch myself every time I think about my time in Provence. It was a dream come true. I was painting lavender fields!!!!! The smell, the sounds and the experience was everything I hoped for and more. Seven days of watercolor painting, awesome food, beautiful sights and great company all made up to a SUPERB GETAWAY!
Our instructor Tess Baker of "Painting Provence with Tess Baker" was more than just an watercolor instructor. She kept us laughing and singing lovely songs everyday that she made up on the spot. As she demonstrated on now to mix colors and lay out our compositions, it began to make sense on how it all comes together from start to finish. I learned so much and can't wait to dive into more watercolor paintings. Tess your THE BEST!
I got to meet 5 other amazing aspiring artists on this trip. All of these ladies were so sweet and considerate that it was so hard to say goodbye at the end of our time together. We were all so blessed to be together for that week. I know we will all stay in touch! Here's to you gals...Ann, Diane, Joanne, Kirsty and Toni!
Our chef Susie was SO WONDERFUL! She would prepare each day a delectable lunch and dinner for us (desserts included)! On location painting days she packed us a wonderful picnic lunch. There was never a day she didn't score a 100! I miss her so much!
On the last day we set up all of our paintings from the week and had our own private little exhibition. It gave us all a chance to see each others work more closely. I feel like I will never be the same as an artist. Already my wheels are turning on new ventures in teaching beginners how to paint. It's all too much fun to stay quiet!
